ALBANY, CA – A group of protesters calling itself Occupy the Farm planted itself Sunday at a plot of farmland owned by the University of California along with banners and seedlings in what it called a fitting celebration of Earth Day.
About 20 core organizers put the project together, said Gopal Dayaneni, as the university continues pursuing plans to sell the Gill Tract, about 10 acres of agricultural land on San Pablo Avenue at the Berkeley-Albany border, for private development.
Dayaneni said the group is committed to growing both the farm and its community of farmers.
Este Miércoles 18 de abril, aproximadamente a las 16:00 horas (EST), autoridades federales de EE.UU. incautaron un servidor desde el Housing compartido entre Riseup Networks y May First/People Link en la ciudad de New York. El servidor incautado era operado por European Counter Network (“ECN”), el más antiguo proveedor independiente de internet en Europa, quienes, entre varias otras cosas, proveían un servicio de remailer anónimo, Mixmaster, el cual era el objetivo de la investigación del FBIsobre las amenazas de bombas contra la Universidad de Pittsburgh.
Entre 1500 y 2000 personas salieron ayer 15 de Abril a la calle en Valencia para manifestarse contra la privatización de la sanidad pública, por la derogación de la ley 15/97, contra el copago y los recortes.
El transcurso de la manifestación, con un evidente tono combativo, denunció mediante la escenificación del criminal efecto de los recortes en sanidad y educación que representaba la guillotina que llevaron durante todo el trayecto compañeros de diversas asambleas del 15 M; así como a través de las consignas que se corearon: “”Presupuestos policiales para escuelas y hospitales”, “le llaman sanidad y no lo es , es beneficencia y lo sabeis”, “el nicho mas barato te lo ofrece Ana Mato” , “tu salud es su negocio” “sanidad , dulce sanidad , no nos quites hospitales como en Campanar” etc.
La ley 15/97, cuya derogación han exigido los manifestantes, permite la entrada masiva de la empresa privada en la gestión de la sanidad pública.
La de Valencia es una de las distintas marchas que han tenido lugar este domingo en diferentes ciudades de España contra los tijeretazos en sanidad, en un momento en el que el Gobierno guarda silencio sobre los términos en los que realizará el recorte extra de 10.000 millones de euros en sanidad y educación y ha reducido en un 6,8% la partida de los presupuestos destinada al sector sanitario (288,96 millones de euros menos respecto al año anterior)
